Bishop Thomas Grant School ‘Trys’ Rugby Success
Bishop Thomas Grant School’s U12s, U13s and U16s have been taking part in the South London Rugby Union League this year. This is a league which features sixteen state schools from around South London with all teams playing against each-other during the season. All three of our teams finished in the top two positions for their age group which is a terrific achievement.
As a result of this success, they recently attended a finals day which took place at Streatham and Croydon RFC. Our U16s finished third having lost narrowly to Harris South Norwood and Carshalton Boys School. Our U12s finished second overall having beaten Carshalton Boys School and drawing matches against Harris South Norwood and Kingsdale School. Our U13s won the South London League, beating Kingsdale Foundation School, Carshalton Boys Sports College and Harris South Norwood on the finals day. This is a fantastic achievement for our school which clearly shows we are one of the best rugby playing state schools in South London. It is a testament to the hard work of our students who have been attending training for the past year, with a number of students now also attending rugby clubs outside of school.
