Bishop Thomas Grant School is Highly Commended in national BTEC Awards and Megan Murphy is crowned the BTEC Sport Student of the Year 2017-2018!
On Thursday 5th July, Megan Murphy, accompanied by Miss Andrews, attended the National BTEC Awards at Central Hall Westminster. The BTEC Awards are a fantastic celebration, not just of the outstanding winners themselves, but of the BTEC qualification itself which is held in such high regard by employers and universities across the world! A growing number of students are now attending university after studying a BTEC (almost 25% on the most recent UCAS figures) which shows it’s increasing popularity and success.
We are very proud to report that Bishop Thomas Grant School came Highly Commended in the BTEC School or Multi-Academy Trust of the Year Award. Another outstanding accolade for the School and a testament to Miss Keane and her Vocational Team.
The Newsletter reported earlier this term that our very own Megan Murphy had been nominated for an award and after going through three stages of judging by a total of 52 judges we are now delighted to report that Megan Murphy has won the BTEC Sport Student of the Year for 2017-2018! Megan was presented with her award by double Olympic Gold Medallist Max Whitlock. Max Whitlock praised Megan for her impressive contribution to school life, her dedication to volunteering as well as her incredible work ethic. All of us here at school are very proud of your achievement Megan!
