Year 10 Healthy Relationships Drop Down Day
Wednesday 24th January 2018
As part of this day, Year 10 students participated in two workshops that explored the themes of healthy relationships and the law surrounding sharing images online. These sessions were delivered by Safer London and Law students from Queen Mary’s Legal Advice center. The Safer London session explored the concept of consent in a variety of different contexts and the pupils were fully engaged throughout the presentations, making valid contributions and asking interesting questions. The second session they participated in, delivered by trainee lawyers, looked at the legal implications of sharing images of people. Again, the students benefited greatly from the session and discussed real-life examples, deciding on appropriate punishments for their actions. As always, Bishop Thomas Grant students impressed the external visitors with their maturity and engagement.

Road Safety Drop Down Day
Wednesday 31st January
On Wednesday 31st January, our Year 7 students were fortunate enough to have ‘The Riot Act’ theatre company deliver their play ‘Deadly Distraction’. The play, which was commissioned by the Lambeth Transport team, focuses on key road safety messages such as distractions (phones and music) as well as identifying and coping with peer pressure and personal responsibility and behaviour. The response from the pupils was overwhelmingly positive and they said they learnt a lot about how to stay safe on the roads.
