Model United Nations (MUN)
The Bishop Thomas Grant Model United Nations team is excited to announce that it will be hosting its fourth annual conference on Saturday 1st July 2023.
Model United Nations (MUN) is a youth-run simulation of the United Nations Organisation, in which students represent a UN state, becoming delegates who propose and debate solutions to some of the most complex global issues, such as the question of the death penalty or organ trafficking. MUN helps students develop their public speaking and debating skills, as they work with others to create solutions to these problems in agreement with their state's perspective.
BTGMUN is a conference aimed at both starter delegates, in Years 7-9, who are just beginning their MUN journey, as well as more experienced delegates, for whom our Security Council poses a new challenge. There is also an opportunity for senior pupils with wider MUN experience to apply to act as guest chairs, to help develop the skills of participating delegates with their differing role in MUN.
Our conference has a fee of £15 per delegate, however bursaries are available for schools who may struggle to meet the cost. Fees include all preparatory materials, certificates, and lunch and refreshments on the day.
Below, you will find links to the application form, chairing application form, the conference programme, delegate guide and committee briefing papers for the conference - our applications close on Friday 27th March 2023.
We look forward to welcoming you to BTGMUN 2023 on 1st July 2023!
