Oxbridge Newsletter – Former student reports as five more students receive offers in January
It is just over five years since former student Cristina Conde received news that she had received an offer from Merton College, Oxford, to study for a degree in Spanish and History. This year’s January post brought news that 5 more students have received offers of places to study at the UK’s top two universities. Congratulations to these students, and also to Cristina, who graduated last summer. Cristina is now working as a production assistant for a film production company working on feature films, music videos and commercials. She writes: “To give a short summary, I ended up in Spain for my year abroad after my first two years at Oxford. I spent half of the year in the University of Santiago de Compostela, reading History of Art, and the other half working in Barcelona as a content writer for a start-up while volunteering at the Museum of History of Catalonia. I was also able to go to Cuba for a short while, as my thesis was about Cuban history and literature. It was a really great experience! I graduated this past summer and went on to do a content production course, which just finished this December. I started work on a project as a freelance researcher for a TV series, and then found a permanent position within a production company.” Cristina kindly provided us with a photo of her enjoying the good life in Cuba!
Thank you to Cristina for her news, and we hope to bring you news of other past students at Oxbridge and other universities during the year.
